Could I Install Base Plate Kit # 3141-1 on a 2010 Chevy HHR, Would I Need to Remove My Front Fascia

Question:

I traded my 2007 HHR for a 2010 HHR. Have base plate Roadmaster installed on 07 and want to transfer it to the 10. Does the whole facia and bumper have to come off? The RV dealer installed the 07, but I want to transfer myself to save $900. Please help

Yes, you will have to remove the front fascia, but not the bumper behind the fascia in order to install the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms, part # 3141-1, onto your 2010 HHR.

To remove the front bumper, it looks like you will have to remove a couple bolts from the core support that are under the hood and near the core support. Next, you will have to remove a couple bolts and plastic fasteners that attach the fender liner to the front fascia in the wheel well. At this point, you will want to unplug the blinkers and fog lights. Now, you will be able to pull the fascia off of the front of the car.

Once you have the bumper/fascia off you will need to remove the plastic fasteners on the driver and passenger splash guards so they can be removed to gain access to the subframe bolts.

Once these items are removed you will have access to all the areas that will allow you to bolt the base plate kit onto your 2010 Chevy HHR.
