5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation Kits For a 2006 Chevy Silverado Short Bed Crew Cab
Question:
Im trying to install a fifith wheel on my truck. I have a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab short bed. May you please find out if these L brackets fit on my truck. Please let me know ASAP. I want to install a fifth wheel trailer to my truck and go camping before Thanksgiving. Thanks for your time.

The # RP58426 brackets that you have referenced are for a Ford F-150 and will not fit your 2006 Chevy Silverado. Instead, we have specific 5th wheel trailer hitch installation kits that will fit your vehicle.
If you have a 5-1/2 foot bed, you will need to use installation kit # RP30035. If you have this bed size and a crew cab, you will need to use a stationary hitch and a sidewinder in order to safely make 90 degree turns. There are measurements that you will need to take and these can be found on the sidewinder FAQ article linked below. Also, to find the correct sidewinder, you will need to know the pin box manufacturer and model number.
For a 6-1/2 foot bed, you will need to use installation kit # RP50064-58. For the brackets only, use # RP50064. I have included installation details for all of the kits listed above.
