B and W Companion Fifth Wheel and Rail Kit Recommendation for 2016 GMC Sierra 2500

Question:

Hey there, hoping you guys can possibly help here... I have a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax. My trucks config is: Crew Cab, 6 1/2ft box. Im looking to add a fifth wheel setup to the box I do not have factory rails, and am very interested in the BandW Turnover Ball setup, and the BandW Companion hitch. My question is: Must I consider the -Sliding- Companion product as your compatible product search suggests, or would the standardfoot non-sliding Companion product suit my purposes? our intended trailer is likely to be a 2017 Jayco Eagle HT 29.5BHDS, if that makes any difference! Thanks in advance for any light you may shed on this matter for me!

Since you have a short bed truck you are going to need a slider hitch to allow you the needed clearance to make tight turns. Otherwise the nose of the trailer would come into contact with the cab of the truck around tight turns.

So for your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 you would need the rail kit part # BWGNRK1016-5W that also doubles as a gooseneck hitch and then the Slider Companion part # BWRVK3400-5W.

The general consensus is that the Companion hitches are among the nicest hitches on the market so I know you will like this setup.
