Bike Rack to Carry 45 lb Bike with a 2015 Hyundai Sonata

Question:

looking for an easy to install bike rack for my beach cruiser bike which weighs about 45 lbs. Which is better, the saris, hollywood, or thule? Currently have an 8 yr. old Hollywood rack with one strap which has come apart at the buckle. Is there a rack with straps at the side, so I can attach it in 6 places, for side-side stability?

The only way you can carry a 45 lb bike with your 2015 Hyundai Sonata is to use a hitch mounted bike rack since all of our trunk racks can't accommodate a bike that weighs that much.

You would need to have a hitch installed like the Draw Tite part # 24965 and then you could use the T2 bike rack part # TH9045 which has the capacity for your bike and would work well. This is one of the nicest bike racks on the market and one of the few with the needed capacity.
