Programmer Recommendation for 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3 4x4
Question:
When i bought this truck, not long ago, it ran like a race car. The engine light was coming on and off, so i took it in. They informed me it was the mass air flow sensor and changed the part. It fixed the engine light problem, however, the truck no longer runs as aggressive. Should i have just left it alone?

It's hard to say why your old MAF was allowing the truck to run faster. It could have been that the sensor was off and it was causing the engine to run too lean which can damage the engine. It could have been that they flashed the PCM to a newer, safer tune that makes less power while working on it.
A lean air to fuel mixture will make great power, but if you go to lean you run the risk of detonation which can cause massive problems.
Best option is a programmer like the Edge part # EP39YR which will advance the ignition timing and lean out the mixture (to a safe degree) to give you much better power while still being safe.
