Adding 5-Way Flat Trailer Connector to 2010 Acura MDX with Existing 4-Way Flat
Question:
Looking for a flat 5 wire harness for a 2010 Acura MDX. I purchased a 4 wire flat from you and now I have a boat with a 5 wire flat adapter. Dual wheel trailer with brakes. Do you have a new harness for me to purchase? Thanks

I have a solution for you to tow your boat trailer that has a 5-Way flat connector, however there is not a custom wiring harness to plug into your 2010 Acura MDX that comes with a 5-Way plug.
In order to convert your vehicle's wiring from a 4-Way flat to a 5-Way flat, you will want to use an adapter such as the Hopkins Adapter 4-Pole to 5-Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter # 47515. This adapter will plug into your existing 4-Way and includes an additional wire that will be spliced into your MDX's reverse light circuit.
If your boat trailer has surge breaks with an electric reverse lockout, the # 47515 will provide the necessary reverse light signal circuit so the actuator will lock out.
If your boat trailer does have electric brakes, the best solution would be to add a 7-Way to your MDX, with the # ETBC7 kit, that will also allow you to install a brake controller, such as the Prodigy P2 # 90885. Then you can use a 7-Way to 5-Way adapter, such as # A75TB to connect the trailer's circuits with the vehicle's.
I've attached review videos for these products for you.
