There are two base plate options for your 2009 Ford F-250 Super Duty. The one I recommend is the most common and will accommodate the most options and tow bars. This is the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, item # 4412-1, which has removable draw bars and is designed specifically for your truck.

There is also the Roadmaster MX Base Plate Kit, item # 4412-3, which is also designed for your truck and has removable draw bars. The difference with this kit is that the draw bars will not accept as many accessories and will not work with as many styles of tow bars. If you will be using the StowMaster Car-Mounted Tow Bar with Lunette Ring, item # RM-581, this kit will not attach to the tow bar. MX base plates will work only with the Roadmaster tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch, such as the Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon and Falcon 2.

The StowMaster Car-Mounted Tow Bar with Lunette Ring, item # RM-581, will work with the XL base plate kit, item # 4412-1, and has the quick disconnects that will allow for easy removal of the tow bar and draw bars when unhooking the truck.

You will also need safety cables and lighting. The RoadMaster 68 inch Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables, item # RM-643 will work well with this tow bar and the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, item # RM-154, will allow you to wire the F-250 so that the stop, turn and tail lights function properly when towing the truck.

I have linked videos on base plate installation and wiring for you to review. These will give you an idea of what is involved in the installation.
