How to Relieve Spring Bar Tension to Allow Weight Distribution Springs to Attach

I PURCHASED A JAYCO JAYFLIGHT 24FBS FROM A PRIVATE PARTY A LOCAL DEALER RECOMENDED A PRO SERIES 49903 WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION HITCH THE CAMPER DRY FROM THE FACTORY IS 5290LBS WITH A MAX LOADED WEIGHT OF 7000 I HAVE A 2016 DODGE 1500 WHEN I INSTALLED THE HITCH I HAD 2 INCHES OF DROP ON THE REAR AND THE FRONT STAYED THE SAME BUT I CAN BARELY GET THE CHAINS HOOKED IN THE FIRST LINK NOT SURE WHAT MY TW WEIGHT IS BUT I DONT THINCK IT IS OVER 750LBS ANY ADVICE ON HOW TO TAKE A LITTLE MORE WEIGHT OFF TRUCK BUT BE ABLE TO GET THE CHAINS TO HOOK

One tip that works well for helping get chains to attach to frame hangers on a weight distribution system like the Pro Series part # 49570 is to use the jack of the trailer to lift the rear of the vehicle with the trailer coupled to the truck. That will make attaching the chains much easier.

Once you get the chains attached you then would be able to lower the jack and be ready to tow. Check out the install video I attached for this WD system as well.
