Will Air Suspension System Fix Rear End Sag On 2009 Toyota Tundra Towign Trailer With WD System

Question:

We have a 2009 Tundra hauling a travel trailer and have noticed the nose of our truck is a bit high. We are within weight limits and use a WDH with anti sway bar. We have been traveling for a couple months and no problems, rides nice, but worry about the nose being a bit higher. We are going to have air bags installed in the rear of the truck, will this help us with the nose up problem? We can bring the hitch down a notch or two to make sure the trailer stays level. We dont know much about air bags and wanted to see if they would be the best choice for this issue. Thank you,

You did not say if the truck and trailer setup is new or if something happened and the rear of your truck is sagging. You want to make sure everything is in proper working order before installing any air suspension systems.

First, you can install an air suspension system like the firestone Ride-Rite, part # F2445. You can adjust the system first and then apply the weight distribution system. Unless you have made some changes this should eliminate the sag you said your truck has.

You can adjust the head on your system to add more pressure on the springs. Tilting the head toward the trailer increases the tension on the spring and will bring the front of the truck back down. If you are using a system that is under size for the trailer you may need to upgrade the system.
