4 Bike Trailer Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2006 Subaru Outback
Question:
2006 Subaru Outback with either 1 1/4 or 2 hitch which carrier: 4 bikes, Schwinn womans 22 comfort/mountain, Mans mountain bike 25, Mans English old fashioned racingor mans 22 mountain bike, same person bike and 16 boys bike with training wheels that will morph as 5 year old grows.

The bike rack that will work best depends on what Class trailer hitch you have. If you have a Class I or Class II trailer hitch with 1-1/4 inch receiver, the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4 Bike Carrier, # TH934XTR, would be a good choice. However, on a Class I trailer hitch, you could only carry 2 bikes with this rack This will be true for any compatible bike rack and a Class I hitch. I have included a link to a video review below.
You may also need to use the Alternative Frame Bike Adapter Bar for Hitch Bike Racks, # TH982XT, for the smaller bikes and any alternative frame bikes. You will also need to make sure you do not exceed the weight capacity of 150 pounds.
If you have a 2 inch trailer hitch, you can use the same rack and carry 4 bikes. The adapter bars may still be needed when attaching the bikes to the frame. I have included a link to a video review of this adapter below.
