Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
Would like to know the best way to pick up the brake light trigger signal. I have read that the wire at the pedal is only a signal wire and does not have enhough amps to register the brakes on at the controller. Not sure if one controller would work better than another.

I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and he said that the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller - Proportional, part # 90885, only requires 1 mili-amp (1/1000 of an amp) for signal, and that you should have no problem using the brake switch wire on your 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to register the brake controller. Also, the #90885 is a very good choice as a brake controller, it is one of our top sellers and performs very well.
My contact at Tekonsha also said that you will be attaching the red wire from your brake controller to the white wire with a tan stripe at the brake switch.
