Replacement ST235/80-16 Trailer Tires for a 2011 Heartland Greystone

Question:

I have a 2011 Heartland Greystone with the following wheels, AM22659HWTB. I currently run the Power King Towmax aka, Blowmax and have had 3 failures tread separation with only 5k miles on them. They are always properly inflated and I run a TPMS as well. I would like to switch to another brand and the Kendas get a great review. Which Kenda tire would you recommend for the wheels I have installed? The RV has a dry rating of 10,500lbs. Thanks!

Helpful Expert Reply:

The Aluminum HWT Series S5 Trailer Wheels # AM22659HWTB will accept 235/80-16 and 235/85-16 trailer tires. But the wheels max out at 80 psi so that leaves ST235/80-16 as the size you would need.

The Kenda tire in this size is rated to 90 psi so I do not recommend it. I recommend the Taskmaster tire # TTWTRTM2358016E because it is rated for 3,520 pounds at 80 psi, costs less than the Kenda, and has a speed rating of 81 miles per hour whereas the Kenda is rated for 65 miles per hour. I have linked a video review of the Taskmaster tire for you.
