Spare Tire Carrier Recommendation for 4 inch Travel Trailer Bumper
Question:
Do you carry any spare tire brackets that mount to the 4 x 4 bumper on my travel trailer and are heavy duty? I had one similar to the Stromberg Carlson that you carry. I almost lost my spare about a month ago on a trip from Ohio to Colorado. The strap steel across the top of the bracket broke completly thru probably from fatigue due to the bouncing on our Interstate road system. I happened to notice that my spare was dangling from the bumper on a 45-degree angle and only being held to my bumper by the bottom portion of the strap steel. I will not replace it with anything made similarly with strap steel. I am looking for something that is made from tubular steel or U-channels that will give it some rigidity.

The Stromberg Carlson Spare Tire Carrier part # TR-1 is a great carrier for a 4 inch travel trailer bumper. We have sold a ton of these and have not had a single issue with it breaking and wanting to drop or dangle the spare. As long as you aren't using a Class A or Class C dually motorhome wheel on it the carrier would work well.
