Recommended Replacement Hub Assembly For Utility Trailer

Question:

I just bought a utility trailer that has surge brakes and dayton style rims with a weird 5 bolt pattern on 14.5 wheels. I want to change the hub assembly to non-brake assembly with a normal bolt pattern, either 5 or 6 bolt pattern. I took drum off, the outer bearing is 4T-15123 and inner one is 25580. which new hub kit can i put on it or do you need more information. Thank You.

With the part numbers you provided for your bearings I recommend the Dexter Trailer Hub Assembly, part # 42655UC1.

This idler hub has a 6 on 5-1/2 wheel bolt pattern and is designed for 6,000-lb trailer axles. This hub assembly comes with bearings, races, seal, grease cap, wheel bolts and lug nuts.

Since you said you want to change the hub to a non-brake assembly, you will need to either replace the surge coupler or lock it out so it cannot move in or out.

Since you are going with a different wheel bolt pattern I have attached a link to our product page for the wheel/tire combos that have a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern you can check out. I recommend going with a radial tire combo like part # AM32666 . This is a Load Range D tire on a 15-inch galvanized wheel. This combo has a maximum load capacity of 2,540 lbs at 65 psi.
