Fixed Cargo Carrier Recommendation for a 2016 Toyota 4Runner
Question:
Hello, I need a trailer hitch cargo carrier for my 2016 Toyota 4Runner with a 2inch trailer receiver. However, I intend to use this on a drive up the Dalton Highway. The Dalton is not well maintained. It is mostly dirt/gravel and has a ton of bumps/potholes. I am worried the bumps will put a lot of stress on a folding-type carrier. What do you recommend? Thank you.

I would agree with your line of thinking on picking out a cargo carrier. A fixed carrier will be a better option for a bumpy road than a folding carrier. The carrier will be much more stable.
The Curt cargo carrier part # C18152 would be a great option. It is a fixed carrier designed for a 2 inch hitch and has a 500 lb capacity. To remove the movement of the carrier in your hitch you would want the locking anti-rattle device part # 63232 as well. Taking the movement out of the hitch will also remove a great deal of the stress out of the setup as well.
