Mckensie Medallion 2006 Fifth Wheel Landing Gear Troubleshooting That Doesn't Raise or Lower
Question:
My front landing gear jack on the left side fails to go up or down now. Was putting on a set of new pads when it started to fail to move. The motor is moving the drive rod in side and yet it does not go up or down now. Info on side of jack says, Venture Manufacturer VMC940RB-159054 Currently there is a 20 ton Jack supporting it on the pad as we speak for safety. last time i had the RV service looked at it said it would be $350. in change for parts not including labor. Do you need a lot of height to repair this and have access to a lot of tools and have excessive experience in mechanics and repair of machine equipment, so think i could handle this if I had the right info. Any and all help and info would be appreciated. Thanks new retired and on the road for adventure.

Sounds like you have a bad Venture gear box. Which for that you would need the part # LG-179015. You would not need to jack the trailer up to any unusual heights to install this either.
The install is pretty straightforward and does not require any unusual tools either.
