Recommended Engine Oil Cooler Kit for 2013 Ford Mustang 3.7 L V6 That is Made in the USA
Question:
Hey Guys - My car- 2013 Mustang 3.7L V6. Not a towing application. I want to add some oil cooling capability for this rig. Hot here in NC in the summer. Your thoughts about trusting oil hoses secured with hose clamps . . . is this a reliable method of hose attachment for the oil supply system? Do you have long term experience with oil coolers plumbed up this way? Next - what about attaching the cooler to the radiator? Actually in my car the cooler would have to be fastened to the A/C condenser because thats in front of the radiator with about a 1-1/2inch gap behind it to the radiator. Last - Are the DeRale oil coolers US made or are these made in Sweden? Not China, right?

Rubber hoses secured with clamps is the trusted standard and always has been with aftermarket oil coolers. We haven't had issues with our installs and we trust them.
Essentially you can put the cooler anywhere it fits and is getting the most air flow possible. If you want to attach it to the radiator, that's fine, you'll just need to find a cooler that will fit in the 1-1/2 inch gap. This is why I recommend the Derale Plate-Fin Engine Oil Cooler Kit # D15405. It measures 1-1/4 inches deep so it may barely fit. The kit includes the hose and clamps, as well as multiple sleeve nuts.
The Derale Stacked-Plate Engine Oil Cooler Kit # D15602 you referenced is 2 inches deep so it won't fit into your space.
The Derale coolers are made in the USA.
