2010 GMC Sierra 2500HD Transmission Cooler Recommendation
Question:
Can you recommend a replacement transmission cooler that I can swop out. The current device is rated at 9700 btus and it looks like I need about 20K btu. Im towing a 7500 lb travel trailer and in the hills, the transmission oil is climbing over 240 degrees and need help

For your 2010 GMC pickup truck I would recommend that you get a Derale Transmission Cooler for the 2010 GMC Pickup, Sierra, part # D13105.
The ideal transmission fluid temperature is from 160 to 200 degrees, 240 is way too hot and you should definitely upgrade your transmission cooler before you pull your trailer again. Otherwise, you may cause serious damage to your transmission.
I recommended the # D13105 because it has a higher weight capacity than your trailer weighs and it should keep your transmission fluid in the right temperature range. Whereas, the # D13502 you referenced is designed for vehicles towing only up to 3500 lbs.
I attached an FAQ on transmission coolers below for you to check out also.
You will also need a Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM, part # D13035, installed onto your radiator to simplify the install on your GMC truck.
