Recommended Trailer Tire for Replacement of 205/75R14
Question:
Hi. I am looking for some new 205/75R14 tires for a small tear trailer. Empty, it weighs 950 lbs and I probably put about 400 lbs of stuff in there when I travel-mattress, clothes, cooking stuff, etc. Am I wasting money if I go up to a D load range, or is there a negative for doing so if I dont need to? I want a good tire that will last.

The only real downside to going with a higher than needed Load Range for a trailer tire would be the typically higher cost.
The tire would recommend is actually the Taskmaster Tire part # TR20514 this tire has a capacity of 1,760 lbs at 50 psi per tire which would be more than enough. But what is really nice about this tire is that it is rated for up to 81 mph whereas most trailer tires are only rated for 65 mph.
