Are Tow Hooks Removed When Installing Draw-Tite Hitch # 41015 On 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser

Question:

I have a few quick questions regarding the drawtite class III trailer hitch for a 1997 toyota landcruiser. Does it fit without having to remove the spare tire which is stored underneath the vehicle? Can I install it and still retain the factory tow hooks on the rear of the vehicle or do they have to come off to have it installed?

You will not need to remove the spare tire when installing the Draw-Tite Class III 2 Inch Hitch # 41015 on your 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser. You will need to remove the tow hooks when you install the hitch, but you will reinstall the tow hooks on the vehicle. When you reinstall the tow hooks you will switch the location of the tow hooks. The passenger side tow hook will go on the drivers side and the drivers side tow hook will go on the passenger side.

I am sending a link to the installation instructions of the Draw-Tite hitch.

If towing with the hitch you will also need Curt Ball Mount # C45010, Pin And Clip # PC3, Tow Ready 2 Inch Hitch Ball # 19247, and the Curt Wiring Harness # C59236.
