Recommended Method for Cooling Engine of 2004 Chevy Trailblazer at Highway Speeds

Question:

I have a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer with only the belt-driven radiator fan. I use it to tow a camping trailer, and would like to add an additional electric radiator fan in front of the radiator to aid in cooling, especially at Interstate speeds. I have found several options on your site, but do not know what would be best. Do you have any recommendations?

I have a solution for you. But at interstate speeds the fans of a radiator aren't really doing much cooling. The fans are generally only there for when the vehicle is at slower speeds. Adding a pusher fan would help if the problem was lower speeds but at interstate speeds it's not going to make a noticeable difference.

What would work best is actually an oil cooler. This will cool your oil off at highway speeds and would make a noticeable different.

Your 2004 Chevy TrailBlazer takes a engine filter thread size of 13/16-16 and the O-ring diameter is 2-3/4 inches. Derale Plate-Fin Engine Oil Cooler Kit, # D15405, does include both of those items and others so it will fit your TrailBlazer.
