Question:

I have a 2007 mustang gt with the 4.6 3v. I would like to add an oil cooler and was wondering if the D15502 would work with my car. I have several performance add ons to include a supercharger. My car makes approximately 480 whp. Hope this helps. Thanks for any assistance and info.

I checked on the oil coolers available for your vehicle and the recommended cooler kit is the Derale Tube-Fin Engine Oil Cooler Kit w/ Sandwich Adapter (Multiple Threads) - Class III, item # D15502, that you selected. This kit will have the correct fittings to install the cooler.

You will need to do some measuring before selecting this kit though, especially since you have some aftermarket additions. First, you need to make sure that you have 2 inches of clearance below the original oil filter for adding the sandwich adapter. Make sure that, when the filter is lowered 2 inches, there will be room for installation and removal. Finally, make sure that there is room in front of the air conditioning condenser for installation of the 16-5/8 inch Wide x 7-5/8 inch tall x 3/4 inch deep, cooler. You should find that these items will fit nicely, as long as an aftermarket addition is not in the way.

You may also want to consider a remote oil filter kit for your vehicle. The Derale Oil Relocation Kit for Multiple Engine Thread Sizes, item # D15748, will have the correct filter landing you your vehicle and with some extra hose, item # D15700, and the Replacement Core for Derale Tube and Fin Coolers - 16-5/8" Wide x 7-5/8" Tall, item # D15302, you would have the parts needed for the installation of both the cooler and the remote filter landing.
