Would Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier # DTA944-968-924 Allow Tailgate to Open
Question:
I will mount the Darby Extend A Truck to 2017 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab. When installed for overhead carrying of twin kayaks can you still open the tail gate? If no, is there an option you can recommend that permits tail gate operation? When the Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier # DTA944-968-924 is installed and you have kayaks loaded you would not be able to open your truck's tailgate fully. It would open a few inches but this product (and the others like it) would not have enough clearance for a truck's tailgate to fold down.
