Replacement Boat Trailer Hub with Inner Bearing L44643

Question:

I need replacement hubs for my boat trailer. I googled the number on my inner bearing L44643 and your product # 8-258BTUC1 popped up. Says if thats my bearing than this is the hub I need. Is it really that simple? My steel rim. Not my tire is 13.25 inches. So is that considered a 13 inch wheel? My lug holes are 2.5 inches apart. Please let me know that my nightmare is really going to be this easy to fix.

Repairing your boat trailer doesn't have to be a nightmare. I will help you to make it a sweet dream instead!

You really should have both bearing numbers to ensure you get the right hubs for your trailer. The good news is you have to take the hub off anyway if you are going to replace it. Both of your bearings are likely L44643 but to be sure I would like to know the outer bearing number as well.

If they are indeed both L44643 then hub # 8-258BTUC1 will fit if the wheel bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2. This means 5 stud holes in the wheel and if you drew a circle that went through the center of each one that circle would have a 4-1/2 inch diameter.

The 2-1/2 inch measurement from one hole to the other you took is probably actually 2-5/8 inches which would make it a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern.

Wheel diameter is not the overall diameter of the wheel. It is the diameter of where the tire sits on the wheel. The overall diameter would be larger so you very well could have 13 or 14 inch wheels. Take a look at your tire size on the sidewall. If it says, for example, ST175/80D13 then that 13 is the wheel size.
