Truck Bed Bike Rack for 2 Electric and 2 Regular Bikes in a 2016 Ram 1500 with Tonneau Cover
Question:
I have a 2016 1500 ram crew cab without ram box and a trifold tonneau cover. I have two 26inch Evelo electric bikes. Will the bike rack work with out taking the tonneau cover off completely? My bikes weigh 60 pounds each, will that be an issue? I am interested in the four bike rack. My other two bikes are regular 26 inch mountain bikes. Thank you for your help.

The best option is to use a tailgate pad such as the Softride Shuttle Pad # SR26457. With it you will drape the front bike wheels over the tailgate and secure the bike frames to the pad. the pad protects the tailgate. It has a 6-bike capacity so the weight of the 4 bikes, even with 2 electric bikes, would not be a problem. I have linked a video review for you.
