Difference Between Grease Seals with Same Inner and Outer Diameter but Different Part Numbers

Question:

A question about inner bearing grease seal I have a Lippert 5200Lb Axle and wondering what the difference is between the: 10-36 seal Code: RG06-070 vs. GS-2250DL Both seem to meet Lippert spec of: Grease seal, double lip, 2.25inch ID x 3.376inch OD Thanks,

Expert Reply:

The Grease Seals 10-36 Pair # RG06-070 and the Grease Seal # GS-2250DL are both double lip seals and have the same inner 2.250 inches and outer 3.376 inches diameters, as you noted. The difference between these two part numbers is that the # RG06-070 comes with a pair of grease seals, 2 seals total, while the # GS-2250DL is for a single grease seal.

Either part number will fit your 5,200 pound spindle that requires a seal with a 2.250 inch inner diameter and 3.376 inch outer diameter. If you go with the # GS-2250DL seal, you will want to order 2 to be able to replace the existing seals on each side of the axle.
