Lubrication Requirements for Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System

Question:

Is there any lubrication requirements for this assembly, other than the hitch ball/coupler? If I purchase from you, will you mount the 2 5/16inch ball to the hitch head? I have a 2008 Airstream Classic Ltd. 27FB with a loaded hitch weight of around 1100#. I tow with a 2014 F150 EcoBoost, 6.5foot bed, Max Tow and HD payload package, 3:73 rear axle. I currently have a Fastaway E2 system and the sway bars keeping pushing the brackets backward during towing. The hole in the bracket is larger than the bolt, which allows this movement. The inside bracket bows when you try to tighten to prevent movement. Also the front of the bars that slip into the head require grease, and this is a mess when removing and storing.

The Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System # RP66560 does not require any additional lubrication other than greasing the coupler. The only other maintenance that is necessary keep the system clean and rust-free so it will be much less than what you're doing now with your Fastway.

It's also possible your Fastway system is rated too low for you. On top of the tongue weight of the trailer you also want to add in the weight of any gear in the back of your truck behind the rear axle. If it turns out that's the case you may want to consider going up to the higher rated Reese # RP66561.

If you need a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball, the Tow Ready Medium Shank # 19286 is compatible.
