A tow bar you could use to pull your 2006 Chevy HHR is the RoadMaster Tracker Tow Bar, part # RM-020. You may also be interested in purchasing a Roadmaster Tow Bar Quick Disconnect Kit, part # RM-201, if you would like to be able to easily remove the tow bars from your HHR.
You will also need a set of Roadmaster Tow Bars for the 2006 Chevrolet HHR, part # 3141-1, in order to connect your HHR to your tow bars.
The most economical system to use for turn signals and brake lights for your towed car would be the Magnetic Towing Light Kit, part # RM-2120. You may need a 7 way to 4 way adapter if you tow vehicle is not equipped with a 4 way trailer wire, such as a Pollak 7 Pole to 4 Pole Connector Adapter, part # PK12716.
If you plan on towing your HHR frequently, you may be interested in going with a Tail Light Isolating Diode System with Wiring Harness, part # 38955, as a lighting solution. This would integrate the turn and brake signals of your towing vehicle into your HHR while its being towed. I included a link to a video of one being installed on a Jeep Liberty below.
Finally, you will need a set of RoadMaster 64 inch Single Hook, Straight Safety Cables, part # RM-645, to complete your setup to tow your HHR.
You should also consult the manufacturers recommendations on your tow vehicle to be sure your vehicle has the towing capacity to pull your HHR. You should also check the manufacturers recommendations on your HHR on towing.
