Why Cant the Folding Version of the Swagman Trailhead be Used at the Back of an RV
Question:
I see that the Trailhead 4 non-folding bike rack says it is approved for RV use but the folding type doesnt say that. Is the difference the folding? I really need a folding type to get to the back engine compartment of a diesel motorhome while the rack is attached. Is the Titan 4 approved for motorhome use?

Yes, the folding feature is the difference that allows the non-folding version of the Trailhead, # S63381, to work with RVs and the folding version, # S63380, to be excluded. The folding feature creates a point of movement and a point of potential failure.
There is a bike rack that folds and that is rated for use at the back of an RV; the Hollywood Racks Traveler 4 Bike Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # HR8500. I have included a link to a video review of this rack for you.
The Titan # S63410 is not RV approved.
