Height Added by Use of Demco DM6099 Rail Adapter for Ram OEM 5th Wheel

Question:

What is the total height off the bed of the truck once this is installed? I am looking to keep the 5th wheel hitch in the bed most of the time and want to be able to have a Tonneau cover closed and locked over rails and hitch. looking to use Demco DM 6099 with a Pullrite Superglide 2300 24k lbs hitch for my 2016 Ram 2500 Diesel with short bed OEM puck system overall, I want a low profile rail system and am trying to compare the Demco to the Reese. any help would be appreciated. thank you.

According to my contact at Demco, their 5th Wheel Rail Adapter # DM6099 for the Ram OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package will add only 1-3/4-inches of additional height to the hitch set-up, as compared to standard above-bed base rails. This additional height is about 1/2-inch more than typical above-bed base rails. If your reference point is the top of the puck openings in the bed then from there up to the top of the rail surface the distance according to my contact is approximately the 1-3/4-inches. The similar Reese adapter # RP30154 adds approximately 2-inches.
