Recommended Wiring Kit To Install Brake Controller On 2007 Toyota Tacoma With 4-Way Connector
Question:
I have a 2007 tacoma 4x4 ,4.0 6 cylinder,standard 6 speed.No factory tow package ,but dealer installed class 3 hitch and 4 flat plug.What i would like is the prodigy p2 brake controller and the correct wiring in cab plug as well as the proper 4 flat to 7 pin connector at the trailer end.I would like to keep a 4 flat plug available with the 7 pin.Could you recommend a package? Thanks

We have just what you are looking for.
To install the Prodigy P2, part # 90885 I recommend using part # ETBC7. This plugs into the 4-way on your truck and with additional wiring you will have a 4-way and a 7-way connector at the back of your Tacoma. I have attached a drawing that shows how the wiring is run when installing a brake controller and using an ETBC7 kit.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
