Cargo Carrier, Light Kit, and Wiring Harness for a 2000 Honda Accord

Question:

I need to get a cargo carrier to transport a round watercraft boat. It appears it will cover taillights and license plate. I will put my license plate on the back of carrier but need a light for it. Which part do I need? I guess I also need 2 brake lights and turn signals as well as the wiring required. I have a 2000 honda accord. I appreciate the help. Thanks

I will be happy to help you out. First, since all of the trailer hitches for the 2000 Honda Accord are Class I hitches you will need a cargo carrier that is rated for a Class I hitch. I have included a link to the available options for you.

You will need to have a 4-Way flat connector on your Accord to activate a license plate light. If you do not already have a 4-Way you can add one using # 43105. Then you could use license plate mounting bracket and light # PM436B. The power wire can be spliced to a trailer side 4-Way, # HM48133. You will only need the to attach the white ground wire to the cargo carrier and the brown wire to the license plate light power wire. The other wires can be cut off or taped up.
