Can a 13 inch Trailer Wheel and Tire be Upgraded to 14 inch Wheel

Question:

I have an open air trailer that I tow my Harley with. Currently I have ST175/80D13 tires. After travelingredients with a friend and his trailer with 15 inch tires I was wondering if 14 inch or possibly 15 inch tires would fit. This would be strictly to enhance ride of the trailer. His trailer is the same size as mine 5×10 but the difference in tire size made a marginal difference in how smooth it trailered.

Sounds like you would like to upgrade your tire and wheels on your trailer. You may substitute a 14 inch tire and wheel as long as you have both the wheel well height and width clearance for it, the capacity of your trailer, and has the same bolt pattern.

A 14 inch tire and wheel combination with the 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern is the Kenda Load Range D # AM32161. This tire and wheels outer diameter is going to be 26.3 inches compared to your current 24.1 inches with your 175/80-13. This tire and wheel combo will have a width of 8.1 inches.
