Your 2006 Chevrolet Silverado with tow package will have a electrical junction box under the dash. You will need the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Brake Wiring Adapter - GM, item # HM47795, which will plug into the second slot from the left on the top row inside the junction box. You will need to install the red wire that is left loose at the back of the brown connector in the slot labeled D before installation.

Once the Hopkins Agility Brake Controller, item # HM47294, is mounted and the wire connections are made you should be ready to go if your truck was set up with a factory 7-way Connector at the rear.

If you find that you do not have power to the brake controller or to the 7-Way at the rear of the vehicle you will need to make some connections under the hood of the truck. We have an FAQ article that details brake controller installation for the Chevrolet and GMC 1999-2006 Pickups for you to review, see link.
