Powered A-Frame Jack Recommendation for Aluminum Trailer
Question:
I have a 2012 Legend 28 ft, enclosed all aluminum trailer. The total gross weight when loaded is 10,000 pounds. The jack on the front of the A frame has stopped working. Looking at your website you have a ton of them, so I have no idea what I need. Since the frame is aluminum I assume i need a jack of similar material to prevent a reaction of the two metals. What about the weight rating. I dont see any that could lift the 10,000 rating of my trailer

Powered A-frame jacks are rated by the amount they can lift vertically. Your trailer that weighs 10k would have a tongue weight of around 1,000 lbs. A trailer jack like the Stromberg Carlson part # JET-5000 with it's 5,000 lb lifting strength would have no problem lifting a 1,000 lb tongue weight. The dissimilar metals shouldn't be a problem either since this is powder coated, but you could paint your trailer where the jack attaches to seal the aluminum if needed.
