What Would Cause Blue Ox Patriot System to Lock Brakes Up

It keeps locking up, in the brake extended position. Not good. Im away on vacation and now am using none. Also- my wire From vehicle to tow vehicle , the blue wire protector just broke apart, Im now using Duct Tape, to hold it together, hate to pay for a new one. If thats going to happen again.

I spoke to my contact at Blue Ox and she informed me that in the rare situation where the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR locks up a towed vehicle's brakes the problem is in how the Patriot is set up and not in the unit itself.

She said in most cases the reason is the seat is adjusted too far forward or the arm of the system has been adjusted too far out.

In very rare situations they have seen an internal A04 error code in the unit causing the system to need to be replaced entirely.

Did you break the breakaway system cable? If so you would need the part # BX2940931
