It sounds like you are trying to figure out the best weight distribution system for your towing system.

To figure out what weight distribution system is the best for you, it is key to know your trailer's loaded and ready to tow tongue weight. To this tongue weight you will need to add the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your towing vehicle. Once you know this total tongue weight for the vehicle and trailer system it will be easier to choose a properly rated weight distribution system.

A friction sway bar works with most weight distribution systems and are pretty universal. However, sway control bars are not as effective for trailers that are heavier or longer and many weight distribution systems come with anti-sway systems built in which are more effective. The different types of built-in anti-sway systems are dependent 2-Point Sway Control, Dual Cam Sway Control and 4-Point Sway Control. I attached a help article explaining the different types of built-in anti sway.

I recommend using a 4-Point Sway Control System as it is the most effective and easy to install. I recommend the Equal-I-zer Weight Distribution Systems as they use a 4-Point Sway Control System. If you are looking for a weight distribution system with a 600 TW capacity and 6,000 lbs. GTW I recommend the Equal-I-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET. If you are towing a heavier trailer with around 1,000 lbs. of TW and 10,000 lbs. of GTW, I recommend # EQ37100ET. Both systems come with a shank and bolts onto the A-frame of your trailer. However, I recommend the Equal-I-zer Thin Walled Socket # EQ70-00-4800 which will help you with installation.

If you are looking for a more economical option, using a friction sway bar is the best way to go. An example of a weight distribution system with an anti sway bar is the Pro Series Weight Distribution System # 49570. This system has a Gross Trailer Weight Capacity of 12,000 lbs. and a Tongue weight capacity of 1,200 lbs.

If you are interested in a weight distribution system, let me know your total tongue weight and the year make and model of your vehicle and I would be happy to give you a specific weight distribution recommendation.

I attached a help article on how to determine the tongue weight of your towing system and common weight distribution questions you may want to check out. I also attached a review video of the Equal-I-zer system which goes into more detail about 4-point sway control.
