Troubleshooting Tekonsha RF Wireless Brake Controller On 2016 Ford F-150
Question:
Weve tried pairing this unit to the vehicle and it shows .c on the hand held unit, and when you apply the brakes when you are stationary, it shows you a number, depending on what you have dialed it to. Which leads you to believe it is operational. However, when you begin moving, and then apply the brakes, the hand held unit looks like it is malfunctioning - it cant show any numbers, in fact some of them are partial numbers and it flashes between partial numbers and .c.. Weve had our dealer pair the unit as well and it still happens...we have not yet installed the harness that comes with the F150 - could that be what is missing?

You will need to make sure the RF, part # TK94FR is mounted horizontally on the trailer and is position within plus/minus 5 degrees for it to operate properly.
If the trailer is not level it may cause the problems you are describing. The notes for the RF also say the power cable for the unit needs to be extended toward the tow vehicle.
