My new travel trailer is 8feet wide and the stock mirrors on my Ranger do not let me see anything but the trailer. what do you recommend?

You would want a set of towing mirrors like the part # CTM2200A which is confirmed as a fit for your 2005 Ford Ranger to give you the wider viewing angle you need to see around your wider trailer.
I attached an install video for this mirror for you to check out as well. These are our most popular mirrors for your truck and they would work very well for you.
