Trunk-Mount bike Carrier Recommendation For 2015 Ford Escape Titanium Model

All the racks say except titanium, why is that?

On our website we show no trunk-mount bike carriers available for your 2015 Escape Titanium model because the Titanium has a plastic fascia located at the bottom of the rear hatch and customers had trouble when installing the bike carriers and returning them.

I called my contact at Yakima and asked about the Titanium model Escape. They said for a bike carrier like the Yakima FullBack, part # Y02634, the attach hooks need to be installed in the anchor mode versus using the clips on the rim of the hatch. The anchor mode is explained in the instructions and shows that the strap is removed from the carrier and the strap end is looped back through the clip end. You then place the clip inside the vehicle and close the hatch. You can then tighten the strap to secure the carrier to the back of your Escape.

You want to make sure you do not tighten the straps too hard to prevent damage to the vehicle. I have attached a section of the installation instructions for the Fullback that shows how to use the anchor method for the bike carrier you can check out.

Thule does not show a trunk mount bike carrier as a fit for the 2015 Escape.
