Is Fulton Coupler Needed to Use Thule T2 Bike Rack on Volvo XC90

Question:

Please advise on the following, 1. Confirm that this product can fit onto the tow ball that comes with the Volvo XC90. Product is as per the URL below. 2. I intend to use the coupler so that I can connect a bike rack that requires a 2inch hitch receiver. Product is as per the URL below. Can the coupler be attached to the tow ball such that there will be no movement? TH9034 3. I noticed that the nut under the locking mechanism is what keeps it in place. If that is undone, would this essentially mean that someone can by pass the lock and decouple the tongue coupler? Thank you in advance.

The link you sent didn't work, but as long as the hitch ball you have is 2 inches in diameter the part # F222000301 would attach to it. You should note that this installs on a trailer tongue that is 2 inches wide. It would not be used in conjunction with a bike rack at all.

If you wanted to use a Thule T2 part # TH83JV you would need to have a trailer hitch installed on your vehicle that has an opening that measures 2 inches by 2 inches. The coupler you mentioned would not be able to be used with this rack at all. I attached a review video for this bike rack to show you how it would install.

If someone wanted to disassemble a trailer coupler they could and it would allow them to steal the trailer in theory. But in reality thieves are not known for this.
