Where do you get the metal frame that the bike is on? Does the rack need drilling or can it go into the holes on my truck?

On your 2009 GMC pickup the Yakima Outdoorsman 300 Ladder Rack, # Y01137-Y00410, does not require any drilling and it does not need to go into the holes on your bed rails, it will clamp to the bed rails on your truck. This part number will include the Yakima 66 Inch crossbars for full size trucks. The round crossbars will allow you to attach any of the Yakima accessories to your rack.

The bike in the picture of the Yakima ladder rack is on a Yakima SprocketRocket Roof Bike Carrier which is attached to the Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket, # Y07070. All of these accessories are attached to the crossbars on the Yakima ladder rack.
