It sounds like you have separate tail lights on your motor home. Meaning that the stop/tail lights are not on the same bulb as the turn signals, and that your current trailer wiring is set up for combined tail light wiring.
We have a converter that will need to install onto the wiring of your motorhome so that the signal will be split appropriately. You would want a Vehicle to Vehicle Taillight Converter # 118158.
To wire it in you will need to take the right turn/stop circuit and run it to the green wire of the input side of the converter. Ground the white wire, and then run the left turn/stop signal to the yellow wire. On the output side you will need to run the right turn of your trailer to the green wire of the converter, the stop light circuit to the red wire, and the left turn to the yellow wire.
On the other hand if the turn signal and brake lights are on the same circuit on your motorhome and one is not working, then it is likely because there is a bad or weak ground connection that will need to be addressed. Make sure that the vehicle and trailer side connectors are clean and free of corrosion inside and out.
Next make sure the main trailer connector ground and the grounds for all of the lights are attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces.
If the trailer has an aluminum frame, tilt bed, or folding tongue that can interrupt the ground. Adding jumper ground wires from the lights to the main trailer connector ground can help.
