Installation of Wagan Tech 1000 Watt Power Inverter on 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
So what gauge of wire is needed to the battery? and will I need a fuse near the battery, if so what type and amps? 2010 jeep wrangler. With these inverters. Would I always need to run the engine when in use? Thanks

The cables included with the Wagan Tech # WC3720 are 6 gauge, and are 36 inches in length. 6 ga wire is fine for runs up to 8 feet long. For a longer wire run, say 9 to 10 feet, use 4 gauge. For runs from 11-21 feet, use 2 ga cable. The inverters are circuit protected already but Wagan recommends installing a 120 amp non-sparking (sealed) marine fuse and mounted fuse holder located within one foot of the positive battery terminal. You can find the fuse holder and fuse at any marine supply house.
You won't need to constantly run the vehicle while using the inverter, as the inverter has a low-battery warning alarm. This being said, it'd be prudent to start the engine from time to time to keep the battery charged up.
