Can a Trailer with 4.80-8 Tires have 4.80-12 Wheels and Tires Installed

Question:

I have a Karavan KBE 900 46 boat trailer. It has 4.80-8 wheels and tires right now. I would like to put new wheels and tires on the trailer, using 4.80-12 tires with load range C tires. Is this possible to do? Will this size wheel and tire interfere with the fenders? I tow the boat and trailer for 400 miles on way a couple of times a year. Is there a better option? Thank-you ahead of time for your assistance.

Going with larger wheels and tires is a very popular option for trailers with your current tire size of 4.80-8. The tire size 4.80-12 will be 5.8 inches taller than what you currently have. That means you would have right at 3 inches less fender clearance than you do know. You will want at least 4-1/2 inches total when it's all said and done.

If you have a 4 bolt pattern you would want the # AM30620 if you have a 5 bolt you would want the # AM30660.
