Will Rack Em Trailer Tailgate Assist # RA-27C Lift a Ramp Gate That Weighs 300lbs
Question:
I have an old flatbed trailer with a 5 tall lift gate ramp that weighs around 300lbs. Can this item handle a gate that heavy?

I spoke with my contact at Rack Em, and the # RA-27C tail gate assist would work for your 300lb gate ramp, but you would probably need to install two of the units, one on each side, to significantly reduce the operating weight of the ramp.
Using one of the assists would reduce the weight of the ramp, but it would most likely not make it as light as you would like, especially since the ramp is already so tall and heavy.
