Slider Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 Short Bed  

Question:

im following the instructions and I measured from rear edge of box-up 25-1/8. I made my marks in the bed. I then noticed that a minimum of 38 inches from the rear of cab to the center of the fifth wheel, and im lacking a few inches. can you offer any assistance? thankyou

You have to install the fifth wheel rails exactly where they belong in the bed of your truck. The measurements have to be used so that the weight of the fifth wheel hitch is centered above the rear axle where it needs to be. Since you have a short bed truck and need more clearance what you will have to do is us a slider hitch to allow you the additional clearance around corners.

For your 2015 Chevy Silverado I recommend going with the Demco Hijacker part # DM8550034 as it will automatically slide back when you are making tight turns. Check out the review video I attached for more info on it.
