Winch Recommendation that Can Feed Out Wire with a Brake
Question:
Can the cable be wound in either direction on the drum on a FK25500301? I need to raise a ramp, so I want to wind the cable in a clockwise direction and let it down using the brake. It will be used 2 to 5 times a year.

On the Dutton Lainson # DL15721, the ratchet style two-way means that you will be able to ratchet the load in or let it out by ratcheting the handle, so when letting a load out the weight of the load will not just totally let go.
This would be the style of winch I would recommend and not winding up your current winch backwards
