How to Get Matching Thule Lock Cylinders

Question:

Hi have currently Thule 512 locks on my Thule 535 bike rack. Bought another bike rack and want to install the same 512 locks. But I want the same key to open the lock on both racks instead of carry two keys. How do I do this? Does the lock number engraved have to be the same on both sets of locks for the same key to work? i.e. N082 on all four locks, or can the number be different?

In order to have all your Thule lock cores keyed alike, all the locks should use the same lock core. The number on the lock is the key number. If one of the locks you've got has the number "N082" stamped on it, and you'd like additional locks that use that same key, you'd order part # THLOCKN082. The locks are sold individually when you specify a lock number. You'll also need the change key, part # 853-1251 if you don't already have it.

Will this fit the Thule 9027 model for both the hitch an bike locks?

You bet! If you need any replacement keys for the N082 lock core then you can find that as part # THKEYN082 as well.

Are the locks on a pro ride cycle carrier 591 standard locks or are they a special order?

The Thule ProRide uses the standard One-Key System Cylinders - part # TH450200 - which are used on just about any Thule product.
