How to Select New Hub/Drums to Match Axle Rating, Bolt Pattern and Bearing Set

Question:

What is the pilot diameter of the 8-201 hub assembly? I am looking for two that will match rims with a 1.6 in or so hole.

On Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-201-5UC3 the outer diameter of the hub center is 3-3/16-inches at the top/outer surface, tapering to 3-5/16-inches at the base near the hub face. These dimensions, which I took myself in our warehouse, are noted on the photo I prepared for you.

Matching up new hubs requires you to confirm the axle weight rating, the wheel bolt pattern and the bearing set used in the hubs. For a hub to fit on your existing spindles it must use the same inner and outer bearing as the current one, and to fit your wheels it must have the same bolt pattern. You can click on the filters on the linked page to select your axle capacity, bearings and bolt pattern to find hub/drums that will work for you. I linked an article on wheel bolt patterns to help you confirm which you need.
